During this past year's pandemic, everyone has had a very difficult time. DC GI continued social distancing, so very few people were able to meet at the GI spaces at a time, and they used Zoom to conduct both online and offline weekend rehearsals.
지난 1년 간의 팬데믹 기간 동안 모든 사람이 참 쉽지 않은 시간을 보내 왔다. DC GI는 사회적 거리두기를 지켜서 최소한의 인원만 GI 센터 현장에 왔고, 온라인 줌 미팅 앱을 활용해서 온-오프라인 동시에 주말 연습을 진행해왔다.
The students who were confined to their houses every day were hit the hardest. The saddest part is that these kids with dreams and passions who should be studying and playing have been trapped in their houses for over a year. In this pandemic, I came to realize that God's Image activities were times to restore vitality in these students.
무엇보다 학생들은 매일 집에만 갇혀 있어서 가장 힘들어했다. 그들은 꿈과 열정을 갖고 공부하고 뛰어야 할 나이에, 1년 넘게 자유를 마음껏 발산할 수 없었다. 이런 팬데믹 상황에서 이들에게 갓스이미지 활동은 활력을 되찾아주는 시간이었다.
Thankfully, the number of confirmed COVID cases in the United States is rapidly decreasing as the vaccination rate is approaching 40%, and Virginia’s government is also easing regulations on social distancing and gatherings.
최근, 감사하게도 미국은 백신 접종률이 40% 가까이 되면서 코로나 확진자가 급격히 줄어들고 있고, 버지니아 주 정부는 또한 사회적 거리두기 및 사람들의 모임에 대한 규제를 대폭 완화하고 있다. 백신접종이 코로나 확산을 막는데 큰 기여를 하고 있는 것으로 확인이 되고 있기 때문이다.
So, DC God's Image has decided to go forward with this year's performance as an on-site performance, and has already rented the venue. The date and location is the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall at the University of Northern Virginia, Alexandria at 7pm on Saturday, August 14th.
그래서 DC God’s Image는 올해 정기공연을 현장 공연으로 하기로 결정하고 벌써 공연장을 대관했다. 날짜와 장소는 8월 14일(토) 오후 7시에 알렉산드리아 노던버지니아대학 내에 있는 레이첼 M. 슐레싱거 컨서트 홀이다.
We We have thoroughly followed the government guidelines on COVID prevention for the past year, and practiced both online and offline every weekend, and thankfully, there have been no issues. Both the staff and students have kept social distancing, quarantined before meetings, and used masks, sanitizer, and washed their hands often.
우리는 지난 1년간 철저하게 코로나 방역에 관한 정부지침을 지켜왔고, 주말마다 온-오프라인을 동시에 활용해서 연습을 해왔는데, 감사하게도 단 한 번도 문제가 발생한 일이 없었다. 스태프와 학생 모두 철저하게 사회적 거리두기를 지켰고, 모임 전에 사전 방역을 실시 했고, 마스크 착용과 세니타이저 손씻기를 시행해왔다.
What was most interesting of all was that the students loved God's Image practice so much that most of their parents wanted to send their kids to the GI spaces voluntarily. When we decided to do this year's performance at the concert hall, most of the parents encouraged us to do so. We are also thankful that the number of students who have received the vaccine is gradually increasing.
무엇보다 신기했던 것은, 학생들이 God’s Image 모임을 너무 좋아해서, 대부분의 학부모들이 자발적으로 아이들을 GI 센터에 보내기를 원하고 있다는 점이다. 또한 올해 정기공연을 현장에서 하기로 결정했을 때도 대부분의 부모들이 격려해주었다. 아이들 가운데 백신을 맞은 비율도 점차 높아져가는 것도 감사한 일이다.
Most of the practice was online for this performance due to the pandemic. I'm looking forward to it more than ever because it is a performance that will provide the freedom that has been bound for over a year and pour out God's love toward the world to the fullest. Only a limited number of people can participate, and only prior applicants can enter.
이번 공연은 팬데믹 상황으로 인해 대부분의 연습을 온라인으로 준비했다. 1년 넘게 묶여 있던 자유를 박차고 뛰쳐 나와, 세상을 향해 하나님의 사랑을 마음껏 쏟아낼 공연이기에 그 어느 때보다 기대하는 마음이 크다. 제한된 인원만 참여할 수 있고, 사전 신청자만 입장 가능하다.

팬더믹으로 인해 DC GI는 2020년 정기공연을 버츄얼 콘서트로 진행한다
In 2020, we found ourselves in a situation we have experienced for the first time in our lives, and online live performances through YouTube were very unfamiliar to us. For this virtual performance, we had to produce a total of 12 performance videos and 2 song videos in advance.
2020년, 생전 처음 겪는 팬더믹 상황에서 유튜브를 통한 온라인 라이브 공연은 우리에게 매우 생소했다. 이번 버추얼 공연을 위해 우리는 총 12개의 퍼포먼스 영상과 2개의 노래 영상을 사전에 제작해야 했다.

BENEFIT CONCERT FOR CHILDREN IN NEED
빈곤국가 아동돕기 정기공연
JUNE 8TH. SAT, 2019 @ 7 PM, 중앙장로교회
The Annual DC God's Image concert will be held again this year with hiphop dances and songs we have been practicing for a year.
해마다 진행되는 갓스이미지 정기공연, 올해도 어김없이 1년 동안 연습한 힙합 댄스와 노래로 공연을 개최한다.
This year's theme is "YOUR PRESENCE". "One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple."(Psalms 27:4)
올해의 주제는 "YOUR PRESENCE"(주의 임재)다. 시편 27:4 "내가 여호와께 바라는 한 가지 일 그것을 구하리니 곧 내가 내 평생에 여호와의 집에 살면서 여호와의 아름다움을 바라보며 그의 성전에서 사모하는 그것이라."
Like this psalmist's confession, all students preparing for the performance will proclaim that the only confession in their lifetime is to seek God.
이 시편 기자의 고백처럼 공연을 준비하는 모든 학생들이 평생의 단 한 가지 고백은 하나님을 구하는 것임을 선포할 것이다.
DC Gods Image is the Washington DC branch team of LA God's Image, which is the headquarters. It has been operated as an affiliate of LA God's Image, but this year it is the first performance to be held after registering a non-profit organization under the legal name DCGIM. Of course, the DBA (doing-business-as) name is the same as DC God's Image.
DC 갓스이미지는 본부인 LA God's Image의 워싱턴 DC 지부팀이다. 그동안 LA God's Image의 산하단체로 운영해 오다가 올해는 DCGIM이라는 법적 명칭으로 비영리단체를 등록하고 처음 갖는 공연이다. 물론 DBA 이름은 동일하게 DC God's Image로 활동한다.
As the number of GI members increases year by year, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a suitable venue. To find a venue for annual concerts, GI used to search for venues with seats for 500 to 2,000 people.
해마다 GI 단원들이 늘어나면서 그에 맞는 공연장을 찾기가 점점 어려워지고 있다. 정기공연을 위해 GI는 500~2,000명 좌석이 구비된 공연장을 물색한다.
In addition, lighting, sound, and video equipment are essential for the best live performance. Since it is a non-profit organization with insufficient funds, it is difficult to operate media equipment by investing from thousands of dollars to tens of thousands of dollars.
아울러 최고의 라이브 공연을 위해서 조명, 음향, 영상 기자재도 필수적으로 필요하다. 자금 사정이 넉넉치 않은 비영리단체이다보니 수천 불에서 몇만 불까지 투자해서 미디어 기자재를 운영하는 일이 쉽지 않다.
This year it will be held at Washington Central Presbyterian Church, the largest Korean church in the DC Metropolitan area. For this year's performance, we worked with someone who has worked as a TV broadcasting station PD in Korea to prepare dozens of pages of floor maps to make the performance more sophisticated.
올해는 DC Metroporitan 지역에서 가장 큰 한인교회인 워싱턴중앙장로교회에서 개최한다. 올해 공연은 더욱 정교한 퀄리티를 위해 한국에서 TV 방송국 PD로 활동했던 분과 함께 수십 페이지의 Floor map 작업을 함께 준비했다.
For reference, DC Gods Image donates all proceeds from performances through Good Neighbors to help children in undeveloped countries.
참고로 DC 갓스이미지는 모든 공연 수익금을 Good Neighbors를 통해 빈곤국가 아동돕기를 위해 도네이션한다.
